Virtual IEEE PIMRC 2021

For the realization of the virtual IEEE PIMRC 2021, University of Oulu partners with Conference Catalysts – a trusted IEEE partner company specializing in comprehensive conference management.  

The Conflux Virtual Platform we are utilizing in this year’s event gives attendees access to all IEEE PIMRC 2021 content and discussion opportunities.  

Log in to the Virtual Platform

Access

All registered attendees will receive an email from Conference Catalysts on 10 September 2021 including access information for the platform. Please note that the access information is strictly for personal use. 

Once redirected to the platform, enter your login credentials. Once logged in you will have the opportunity to customize your profile. Please take advantage of the ability to select your own time zone. This will ensure all schedule views are personalized to you. 

User instructions

Attendees will receive the Conflux User Guide in the credentialing email. We invite you to explore the guide so that you can navigate easily within the platform.  

Paper authors

The presenting authors are kindly invited to check the virtual platform chat daily during the virtual conference and answer to the questions regarding their presentation. This can be done in a non-real-time manner. It is not mandatory to do that during the nominal session time (as appears in EDAS).

Sessions

Live sessions will be run through Zoom. The platform will direct you to the correct Zoom session once you click the “View live session” button. The preferred browser for using the Conflux Virtual Platform is Google Chrome. 

Speakers are invited to enter their session(s) 15 minutes before the starting times to test their videos and mics. Attendees are invited to join the live Zoom waiting room up to 15 minutes before the start time. Attendees will be let into the sessions starting from 5 minutes prior the starting times.   

On the platform, attendees can explore and attend 11 different types of sessions:  

  • Keynotes (LIVE) 
  • Panels (LIVE) 
  • General Sessions (LIVE) 
  • Workshops (partly LIVE) 
  • Track 1: Fundamental Theory and Physical Layer 
  • Track 2: RF Technologies, Antennas and Propagation 
  • Track 3: MAC and Cross-Layer Design 
  • Track 4: Mobile and Wireless Networks 
  • Track 5: Experimental Networks, Services, Applications and Business 
  • Special Session 
  • Tutorials 

All live sessions will be recorded and posted on the virtual conference platform to be viewed on-demand until 31 December 2021.

In addition, recorded PIMRC keynotes will be published on the event website shortly after the live sessions have concluded.

Tutorials

Tutorials will be held fully virtually. The presentations are pre-recorded can be viewed on demand during the conference week. The tutors are expected to answer questions in a chat in a non-real-time manner.

On-demand content

The on-demand section of the platform includes all IEEE PIMRC 2021 technical papers, videos, and presentation material of 203 accepted papers in the technical program and workshops. In total 15 Tutorials are also offered on-demand. 

Proceedings

Attendees can download the proceedings on the platform. 

Virtual Booths

We invite you to explore the virtual booths of IEEE PIMRC 2021 patrons:  

  • Gold patrons: Ericsson, Huawei, Nokia 
  • Silver patron: Qualcomm 
  • Bronze patron: Virginia Diodes 

In addition, we have made available 6G focused material that 6G Flagship Program – the organizer of IEEE PIMRC 2021 – has published.  

Engagement

Join live networking sessions with your fellow PIMRC 2021 attendees with the Engage feature – located on the left side menu bar on the virtual platform. You can create your own networking room and interact with fellow attendees!   

Virtual conference templates

All attendees are welcome to use the IEEE PIMRC 2021 slide template and the virtual background for Zoom. 

Post-event availability

The platform remains open for exploration until 31 December 2021.
