PIMRC 2021 Awards

In the Awards Ceremony on 16 September, PIMRC 2021 Awards Committee Chair, Prof. Luis M. Correia, announced two awards.

 

IEEE PIMRC 2021 Best Paper Award was granted to

Aimin Tang, Yao Liu, and Xudong Wang University of Michigan-Shanghai Jiao Tong University Joint Institute, Shanghai Jiao Tong University, China

“Exploiting Joint-Cache-Channel Coding for Decentralized Coded Caching With Heterogeneous Link Rates and Cache Sizes”

 

IEEE PIMRC 2021 Best Student Paper Award was granted to

Bitan Banerjee, Robert C. Elliott and Witold A. Krzymién, Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, University of Alberta, Canada; and Hamid Farmanbar, Huawei Canada Research Center, Canada

“Towards FDD Massive MIMO: Downlink Channel Covariance Matrix Estimation Using Conditional Generative Adversarial Networks”

 

The Awards Committee was composed of Luis M. Correia (IST-U. Lisbon, PT) (Chair), Markku Juntti (U. Oulu, FI) and Ana Garcia Armada (U. Carlos III Madrid, ES). Tracks Co-Chairs have proposed 1 to 2 papers in their tracks in each category (Best Paper Awards and Best Student Paper Award), after which each member of the Awards Committee ranked his/her 4 best papers in each category. In a final meeting, the Awards Committee discussed the global ranking and decided on the winners. Conflicts of Interest were taken into consideration, so that nominated papers could not be authored by or from the institution of nominators (Tracks Co-Chairs) or members of the Awards Committee.
