Author Video Instructions

It is with great pleasure that we, the 6G Flagship Program team at the University of Oulu, Finland and the IEEE Communication Society (ComSoc), welcome you to the 2021 IEEE International Symposium on Personal, Indoor and Mobile Radio Communications – IEEE PIMRC 2021! Due to the on-going COVID-19 pandemic and resulting travel restrictions, PIMRC has shifted to a fully virtual format and opted to have pre-recorded fully on-demand presentations!

Please prepare and upload a video of your presentation, comprised of a brief introduction with webcam, if desired, followed by voice over slides for your presentation. Please note: the file must be a video file in MP4 format (more details below). Please do not try uploading PowerPoint or PDF files. As a reminder, having a pre-recorded presentation is a requirement and needs to be submitted by July 5 12, 2021.

Note: You may receive multiple emails requesting different uploads. Each presentation that needs to be uploaded will have a unique link. So, if you are responsible for multiple papers then you may receive emails for each individual presentation.

Our recommendation for recording a compatible video (from content displayed on your computer screen, and voice recorded via the computer microphone) is to record the presentation using Zoom – available to users on most platforms and in most countries. With this method, you may show your face via webcam (if you’d like) and display your slides as you talk.

Instructions for recording your presentation with Zoom:

For Authors located in China who are unable to access Zoom for free, use of the free software OBS, allows you to simultaneously capture yourself speaking and your slides: https://obsproject.com/

There are also other video conferencing tools available to easily record a presentation. You may use any meeting software as long as you get a good quality recording and your final file is in the MP4 format. Here are some links to instructions on recording a meeting on common platforms:

You can also use the two-step method: Create Voice Over Power point and convert to MP4

In order for the technical program committee to verify your videos, there is considerable urgency in preparing and uploading your video. Accordingly, we ask you to please finalize your video no later than July 5 12, 2021.

Guidelines for preparing your video:

  • Duration: 15-20 minutes
  • File size: 750 MB (maximum)
  • Video file format: .mp4
  • Dimensions: Minimum height 720 pixels, aspect ratio: 16:9

Please note the final specifications will be checked at the time of submission and files not compliant may not be uploaded.

Please be sure the video includes the title of the talk, your name, and a mention to PIMRC 2021.
